The exact live profile could not be inspected in the research pass because of portal access restrictions, so the safest inventory is based on DOC's official description and disclaimer. The public search is expected to identify the person and current custody details. It is not a criminal-history background check, and it omits categories that DOC says are excluded from the public display.

Corrigan Correctional Center
Corrigan Correctional Center is the key New London-area DOC facility. It is in Uncasville/Montville and serves Superior Courts in Danielson, New London, Norwich, and Windham. That means a person connected to a New London County arrest or court case may be held outside the city of New London while still being tied to a local Superior Court matter. Corrigan confines both pretrial and sentenced offenders.

Corrigan's facility history also prevents outdated custody assumptions. Corrigan opened Dec. 30, 1994; Radgowski opened Jan. 10, 1991; the facilities were consolidated in May 2001; and Radgowski closed Oct. 6, 2021 due to reduced incarcerated population. Corrigan lists programs including anger management curriculum, a close monitoring unit for members of security risk groups, educational programming, addiction services, and PREA reporting material.
Custody vs Court Case
A DOC inmate result and a Superior Court case result answer different questions. DOC answers where a person is held by the state correction system. The Judicial Branch answers whether there is a pending criminal or motor vehicle case, a conviction display, a docket, a warrant, or a court event. A person can be held pretrial with no conviction. A person can also have a court record with no current DOC custody.

Visitation Rules
DOC visiting rules are statewide and facility-specific schedules can change. The basic sequence is to locate the inmate, confirm the facility, get on the approved visiting list, wait for approval, and check the facility page before travel. DOC says offenders in quarantine status cannot participate in social visits until Health Services clears them. No more than two visitors are allowed per in-person visit, including children. Visits are 30 minutes long until further notice.

Visitors must arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled visit, show valid photo identification, and leave cell phones and electronic devices outside the correctional facility. Non-contact visits are recorded. DOC does not hold visits on listed state-observed holidays, including New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Lincoln's Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Video Visit Access
DOC video visits use Microsoft Teams on a smartphone, laptop, or tablet with video and audio. Video visits are free, but a valid email address is required. The visit is not scheduled until confirmation from the facility arrives, so visitors should check junk mail. Visitors must be on the approved visitor list. Up to three authorized adult visitors may participate and must be on the Visit Request Form; youth domiciled to the household are not counted toward that adult visitor number.
Video visit rule: Visitors must enter at least 15 minutes early for screening and may not record the visit.
Money and Accounts
DOC inmate account records are handled through the Inmate Trust Fund. The research identifies the Inmate Trust Fund office phone as 860-692-7670. It is no longer necessary to be on an inmate's visitor list to send funds. Funds can be sent by U.S. Mail, JPay electronic deposit, TouchPay electronic deposit, and other official methods listed by DOC.
Mail deposits require the inmate name, inmate number, sender name, sender date of birth, and sender address. Complete and legible remitter information must be included. DOC's public inmate information excludes Youthful Offender Statute offenders and people held on behalf of Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement. DOC also warns that inmate information may change quickly and may not reflect current status despite daily updates. For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator. For immigration custody, use the appropriate federal immigration route rather than Connecticut DOC search.
When a New London County inmate search does not find a person, check timing and jurisdiction before assuming there is no custody or court issue. The person may have been released, transferred, held federally, excluded from the public DOC display, or connected only to a court case with no current DOC custody.
